Good day for a dog
One year ago, Chloe took a solstice run with us in the high desert near Pueblo. We were out for four or five hours, a great day. Chloe had a wonderful time chasing prairie dogs and being out. But she was never the same after that day, and died of a mystery tumor a few months later. Now, in Colorado again, thinking of our friend, who had a fun life.

it's good to see that curved rump and 'fruit-bat ears' that so characterized Chlo again. from this picture i can almost see that floating lope, strangely wolf-like, running always just a step behind, like a good dog. for those who think of dogs as just animals, i feel pity. Chlo was a person and a friend in every sense of the word, with feelings that were more transparent and better communicated than most humans i know. she had something to give to the other people she loved. we miss her over here on Fordham and we're glad that she passed on the 180-flip turn to Poops. it's a good trick and a good thing to leave behind.
Thanks, brownie.
Chloe did have that sensitivity that seemed to be beyond canine. Her eyes. It was like she understood. And we're glad she lives on in Poops' butt-spin move.
