I like this one, as there's much wonder of where you're heading. Good stuff!

I like this one because it shows tracks in a peaceful setting. It highlights the tracks which is part of the title.

I like this one. I like the serenity and I find it somewhat mysterious the way the tracks lead towards a rugged landscape, which is what Alaska is overall.

Also, I tried to imagine the book closed and this cover would catch my eye.

I'm looking forward to seeing the one you chose…any of the three would work….but option 2 is my first choice.

hey buddy,

It is definitely is a toss up between all three covers. I do like how the pic on cover #1 wraps around from front to back and how bright and majestic the scenery is. But…that being said…I prefer #3 (or even #2)because of the dimmer light and the sense of mystery this gives me as you head off into the unknown with only the track of your skis and sled behind you. It makes me want to open the book up and see where you are headed. Cover #1 shows what looks like a busy basecamp (i presume 14k on denali or something) and is in a way lacking the sense of solitude, mystery, or remoteness of the wilderness. The fonts on #3 are my least favorite though… Not sure if this helps or not.

This is the best choice because it shows more of Alaska's topographical texture. The other two choices are appealing, with the first option being dramatic and full of granduer. The reason I did not choose the other two choices is people think of snow when thinking of Alaska, but there really are trees, bushes, and layered vistas. The other two options limit an imaginative reponse to Alaska since they show mostly snow and ice. Thus, the first option will probably have a better shelf appeal, but the second option provides a better glimpse of why people walk that extra mile when they can.

I really like the color contrasts of #2. The blues jump out you as people click through thumbnail images on Amazon.

All three are good, but the one that caught my eye the most was number 2. It is more peaceful-looking with the subdued light. The no people, only signs (tracks) theme is very comforting to me. And there are intangibles that just make me like this one the best - who knows?

All three are beautiful but #2 is more striking. I like the two different scenes and the colors. #1 would be my next choice. #3 is just too bright but as another gal said it does draw your attention to the book. This is a hard business.
