lil' help?

I've got a decision to make, and I need your help.

I'm going to try self-publishing a book though Amazon.com, what the heck, and artist Melissa Guy has drawn up three potential covers for me.

I'm not sure which one to choose. I have a favorite, but I want to know what you think.

Can you do me a favor and ring in for your favorite by giving me a note in the Comment section beneath the cover you like best?

Thanks.

Ned

Michelle @ 7:34 pm:

I love all 3 to tell the truth, but I like the lighter/bluer color, more representative of a crisp Alaskan day.

Good luck, I'll buy that book! :-)

Thanks Michelle;

That photo, option 1, is the 14,000 foot camp on Denali. I spent a couple weeks there while on the mountain.

#1 - no question. i look at books all day long, and i believe option one stands above the rest of the the Alaska fray. they are all very good on their own, but #1 is special.

i'm stoked to see you moving forward with this Ned. i can't wait to see the finished product.

we need to get together soon.

I like all three, but #1 definitely draws my eye to it in a way the others do not. I think it is because of the brightness. It give me a feeling of a clear, bright Alaskan day, and that feels beautiful and very nice. I am really looking forward to reading your next book! And many thanks for the aurora borealis information you just sent me. It was very helpful and you were very kind to be so generous of your time.

Ned,
Option 1 is going to be picked up and likely purchased by a lot more people due to its "brightness" and "clarity" and inspiration. Good luck, love your writing!
P.S. don't be so obsessed by a little bit of a spare tire, please, its not the end of the world.

Ned,
Number 1 for sure. As the others have said, this one is just "crisper" than the rest. It's a bit cleaner, design-wise, as well. I have an autographed hardback copy of Walking my Dog Jane I purchased at Gullivers books around the corner from you. It's always a must stop when we're in Fairbanks. I really enjoy your writing, so I can't wait for the new book. Cheers from Miami! David.

i think i'll add my voice to chorus in support of #1, though admittedly i like the font and lay out of the title better on #3; i esp. like how the picture on #1 extends from back to front. can't wait to hold it in my hands!

give anna-banana a smooch for me.

Ned, #2 is the most eye-pleasing to me. #1 is good, but #2 is the cover that makes me want to grab the book off the shelf and crack it open. Whichever one you choose, I'm looking forward to it. Greg

Hey Ned,

You probably don't remember me, but I was the limey on your trip to the VTTS in 2001.

Have been reading your blog with admiration, and it gives me something to aspire to in my own feeble blogging attempts!

No 1 is the most eye catching, by the way.

Hi Ned,
We have corresponded via e-mail in the past - then I got a new computer - and with set up and household chores, and going on vacation, etc. etc. I have neglected to keep up with your goings-on - except of course I still read your articles in the Alaska Magazine.
I have just been roaming through your BLOG and find it very interesting - makes me want to be there.
Just looked on Amazon.com but I guess the new book isn't out yet. Will certainly buy it, as I still enjoy your writings, especially since reading "Walking My Dog Jane."
Good luck to all three of you.
